Back2School Mini Sessions for 2020

I’m really happy & honestly proud that this will be the SIXTH YEAR I’ve had Back-to-School pictures for local homeschooling families! As we all know education for children in our area is completely different then last year & it’s exciting for me to see many families drawn to the homeschool community. We are starting our own homeschool journey- Elizabeth is in Preschool!

Please keep reading for my COVID19 procedure & changes for this year’s Back2School Minis- there are quite a few!

Because of the growth of homeschooling in BN, I will offer these mini sessions to a wider client circle once I connect with my usual homeschool family clients. Please note this is a service I usually only offer to those who are homeschooling at least one child in their family. If I have some open slots, I may open it up to those who are doing e-learning. Just depends!

NEW FORMAT I have spread the mini sessions throughout the week instead of having them on just two days. This will allow me to pace myself & my body 😉 better & allow for social distancing between families.
MAKEUP RAIN DAYS Make-up Rain days for the scheduled session is the day AFTER. IE if you signup for a mini session on Monday if it rains, your photo session will be rescheduled for the next evening on Tuesday, at the exact same time. If you signup for a session on Wednesday, your makeup rain day is Thursday. Friday & Saturday’s sessions makeup rain day will all be on Sunday. Please make sure you’re free for your makeup rain day as well as the day you signed-up for a session.
COVID19 I have scheduled a bigger break then usual between sessions to allow less contact between my clients. I will have a mask & will wear it when I’m not able to be 6 feet apart during the session. I do not expect those who I’m photographing or interacting with to wear masks since you are the ones in the photos & we will be outside. I will not be taking requests for using masks or toilet paper in photo sessions. I see these as important items & not photo props.
PREVIEWS In the past I’ve sent previews from sessions the same evening the session has happened, with our family being full blown into newborn life plus two other little ones, previews will be emailed out within 24-48 hrs after the session.
DEPOSIT Please remember that a $25.00 non-refundable deposit is due to officially hold your mini session. You will receive an invoice emailed to you within a few days of your signup to pay the deposit.
LOCATION I had a few clients request to go back to last year’s location & I was just there to see how the wildflowers were & the nature center is honestly a huge mess! No flowers this year & it’s all very overgrown & not “pretty”. The nature center is going through a preservation process I read & so I will be looking for another location for us this year. I already have one in mind but need to check on it!

STUDENT MINI SESSION VS FAMILY MINI SESSION As usual I am offering two options of Back2School Mini Sessions. Please see below the detailed description of each session as they’ve changed a bit this year.

OPTION 1
STUDENT MINI SESSION: These are now setup for just ONE student. I rarely have a request for this type of mini session so this year there are only two openings for a Student Mini Session. One on Friday & one on Saturday- both at 5:55PM. IE If you have one child in your family needing Back2School pictures, please choose this option.

STUDENT MINI SESSION
– 5-7 Images
– $40.00 (*$25.00 deposit due at time of signup)
– I will spend time with the student & take photos of them that truly capture their smile & personality!

OPTION 2
FAMILY MINI SESSION: These are for families that have 2 or more students wanting Back2School pictures OR the entire family. IE you have two children in your family needing Back2School pictures, choose this option. OR if your entire family wants pictures, choose this option as well. Please look over the breakdown of the fee charged per the amount in the session.  

FAMILY MINI SESSION
– 2 Students $40+$30 = $70
– 3 Students $40+$30+$30 = $100
– 4 Students $110
– 1 to 4 children+parents = $120
After 6 individuals in a session being photographed, there is a $10.00 fee per additional family member.
– 4-6 Images of each student
– Plus images of students together & parents
– We’ll have a blast having your family interact together & capture your family as a whole along with individual pictures of each child in the family!

All images will be delivered within 3 weeks of the session via email with a link to an online gallery where they can be downloaded to your computer & then printed wherever you choose. Print Release is also included. Full remainder of the session fee is due at session. An online contract & more details about preparing for your session will be emailed ahead of time. No outfit changes are allowed. These sessions are in my opinion not suitable for seniors in high school. Feel free to ask me about my Senior Experience Package!

Fall 2019 Mini Sessions!

It’s that time of year AGAIN! Time to plan for the fall & choose a fall mini photography session date! I am offering two different dates for my Fall Mini’s- October 19 & November 2. (If neither of these dates work for your needs, I am offering Christmas Mini Sessions & you can read all about those HERE.) And please make sure you read THIS POST for a few changes I’ve made to my mini sessions in 2019.

If you’re not quite sure if a Mini Session fits your needs, THIS POST will help you decide that!

OK! On to the juicy details!

  • Location: Same as last years! (Click HERE to view some of my favorite images from last fall!)
  • Dates are October 19 & November 2 (Grab a spot HERE!)
  • 20 minute interactive mini photo session
  • 15-20 professionally edited photos
  • Examples of photos include: several family poses, several of the children together, pictures of parents/significant others together, pictures of each parent/guardian with all children.
  • Each session is $150.00 (After 6 members of an immediate family, there is a $15.00 cost per additional person.)
  • A $25.00 deposit is required to officially secure your spot. The remainder balance of $125.00 is due at the time of your session. Your deposit can be paid online through an invoice I’ll email you. If the deposit isn’t paid within a certain time, the spot will automatically become open for another client to take it. The remainder fee has to be paid paid by the time of the mini session.
  • You will receive a few images from your session via your email as a preview. The full gallery & print release will be delivered via an online gallery where you can download them & print them wherever you choose within three weeks. You can also share this gallery with friends & family to download as well at no extra charge.
  • As we get closer to the mini session date, you’ll receive an email from me with the location of our mini sessions & other details.

Sibling 2019 Mini Sessions

“I just want a picture of all my kids smiling & looking at the camera!” says just about every momma to me 🙂 And now that I’m a mom of two, YES that can be a difficult thing to make happen! So let ME do that for you!

This year I am offering Sibling Mini Sessions!!! Here below are the details including pricing info & the link to sign up. I only have 4 spots! These are PERFECT for the family that just wants pictures of the kids this year & will be skipping family pictures & wants to get ahead of the busy fall schedule.

Friday, September 6 SAVE YOUR SPOT HERE. Rain Day if needed will be Sunday, September 8. 

If you’re not quite sure if a Mini Session fits your needs, THIS POST will help you decide that!

  • Location: TBA in Bloomington-Normal
  • 20 minute interactive mini photo session
  • 15-20 professionally edited photos
  • Examples of photos include: several poses of each child alone, several poses of all siblings together, several poses of groupings of siblings (ie sisters together, brothers together)
  • Each session is $100.00 & covers 4 total siblings. (After 4 children, there is a $15.00 cost per additional person.)
  • A $25.00 deposit is required to officially secure your spot. The remainder balance of $75.00 is due at the time of your session. Your deposit can be paid online through an invoice I’ll email you. If the deposit isn’t paid within a certain time, the spot will automatically become open for another client to take it. The remainder fee will be paid by the time of the mini session.
  • You will receive a few images from your session via your email as a preview. The full gallery & print release will be delivered via an online gallery where you can download them & print them wherever you choose within three weeks. You can also share this gallery with friends & family to download as well at no extra charge.

Summer 2019 Mini’s Recap!

Summer Mini’s were SO fun this year! I’m a bit in love with our location & it’s the second time I’ve used it! The special couples & families I got to photograph are just favorites of mine. AND the weather had been SO crazy! We’d had SO MUCH rain the weeks leading up to the evening of the sessions & even! It literally started sprinkling rain a half hour before the first mini session & STOPPED raining like 8 minutes before the first. After that the weather was perfect & the show went on! Sometimes you never know what’s going to happen with the weather in IL!

It was very hard to choose but here are some favorites from Summer Mini’s this year! If you’re interested in getting a summer mini spot next year you’ll want to sign up to be on my enewsletter HERE so that you’re notified as soon as they open up!

Well here we are again! For the FIFTH YEAR it’s time for Back-to-School pictures for local homeschooling families! (Please note this is a service I offer ONLY to those who are homeschooling at least one child in their family.) This year is very special for me because we are just one year away from our eldest starting Kindergarten & I’m beyond excited to officially “join” 😉 the local homeschool community as a homeschooling family ourselves!

I wanted to ask for your help. Each year I have gotten a wonderful response from local families & thus have been able to continue to offer these mini sessions for so many years now. Will you help me continue to offer this special service? If you could share this blog post with your homeschooling friends thru email & or facebook that would help me out so much! This helps ensure that each mini session spot is taken & that I am able to continue offering this year after year. Now that I’m a mom of two & I also nanny two days a week, I have to be wise with my time & what things I offer thru my photography business. As long as I can keep booking these mini sessions every year, I will continue to offer them. So please share away after you get your own spot of course 😉 Thank you friends! I am offering two types of packages for the Back-to-School Mini Sessions:

Back2School Minis will be held on August 16 (rain day will be Aug 17) & August 24 (rain day is Aug 25). Choose your spot HERE! 

*Please Note* that if you’re signing your family up, please take TWO ten minute slots. If you’re signing up a student please take ONE ten minute slot per student. NEW FOR 2019 Non-refundable deposits of $25.00 are required to officially hold the session. Once you signup for a spot, you’ll receive an email soon with an invoice to pay the deposit fee. That will be subtracted from your entire fee & the remainder fee will be due the day of your session.

INDIVIDUAL STUDENT SESSION:
– First Student – 5-7 Images | $35.00
– I will spend time with each student & take photos of them that truly capture their smile & personality!
– If you have more then one child-great! After your first child, it’s just $25.00 per additional child.
– Session is 10 minutes.

FAMILY SESSION:
– Family’s up to 6 members ($10.00 per additional family member after 6 members) 12-15 Images | $90.00
– Session will take 20 minutes. We’ll have a blast having your family interact together & capture your family as a whole along with individual pictures of each child in the family!

Every year of homeschooling is a milestone! And capturing your children & family at this time, is a joy of mine.

Back-to-School 2018 Mini Sessions Recap!

It’s hard to believe that at the time these pictures were taken, SEVERAL of these families I’ve photographed for 5 years & some of the others 4! It was also having a few new homeschooling families!

Every year that I share a few favorite images from the Back-to-School Mini Sessions I like to share a bit of the story of why I even offer these. I was homeschooled all my life & so was my husband. It is our prayer & hope that we can homeschool our children as well. I’ve actually spent a bit of our summer researching & talking with other homeschool moms as we get closer & closer to when Elizabeth will be ready for Kindergarten!

I’m so thankful for the large homeschool community in Bloomington-Normal. I’ve lived in 7 different states & never experienced anything like the community that is here for homeschoolers. I love being to offer this service to the local homeschooling families & truly look forward to it every year! Here is a few of my favorites from our 2018 Back-to-School Mini Sessions!
