This was one of my favorite maternity sessions I’ve ever done! The couple has such an incredible story & I felt like immediate friends when we met! We had beautiful wildflowers for their session & wanted to share a few of my favorites with you!

I know you can see it on their faces- we had SOOO much fun doing these pictures! It was a chilly one AND my last session before I started my maternity leave before having Ruth. But we had so much fun guys. I had hungout with Kayla & her immediate 4 right when their little guy Gunner was just a few weeks old. You can view that session HERE. So I was SUPER thrilled when she invited me along to take pictures of her husband’s side! We met at a beautiful local park & I just love some of the more in-between moments that were captured. And of course, the highlight was at the end when the fam broke out into their Bears gear! š Enjoy viewing friends!

This is a special session to share, even though it’s over a year after it happened that I’m posting it! Little Harrison was born just 4 days after our daughter Ruth. Elyse & I shared the same pregnancy journey & were able to pray for each other & give encouragement on those days we really needed it. Plus, the Fishel Family is special to our family as we have a little supper club with them & third family.
Even though a lot has already changed since this session (ie they recently moved into a house & Harrison is one now!) the love the Fishel’s share is REAL & has not changed. I love the pride that Chuck has in his face looking at his son in these pictures. The giggles that precious big sister has & Elyse’s happy momma glow.
I remember the session I had with the Fishel’s & Elyse & Chuck shared with me that they were pregnant (you can view that HERE) & even back to when we did big sister’s newborn session (view HERE).
I can’t believe our babies are now over one & that so much has happened since the day we both told each other we were expecting. The Lord is faithful & His faithfulness is all over these photos!
I think my session with Noah was one of the most fun & unique sessions I’ve had with a guy ever! His mom had informed me of the full suit, top hat & bow tie look he planned to wear & with Noah’s mom in tow, we had SUCH a blast creating a classy, almost Paris type feel for his pictures! With the spring flowers in bloom, I literally felt like we were able to transport to France for part of his session š I’m sharing just a few of my personal favorites from his session today!
I was so honored when Johnny’s mom reached out to me to do a session for him as he is graduating from high school. I feel a close connection with Johnny’s family even though we don’t see each other that much because his family homeschools. If you didn’t know, I was homeschooled, as well as my husband & it’s a dream & prayer of ours to homeschool our own children. So to me it’s very inspiring to be a part of a special session commemorating this incredible season for Johnny & his parents!
Here are some of my favorites from his session! Johnny, I’m excited for your future & I know your parents are very proud of you! Keep your eyes & focus on the Lord!
A special client referred the Mayes Family to me & I was SO excited about meeting them! We went to one of my favorite locations in town & it was a treat to be get some amazing pictures of this family š My particular favorites are the individual portraits of each of the children. The kids & I were having a blast & their personalities & joy just opened up in front of me & I loved documenting them! Here’s a few of my personal favorites from their session!
Hereās the quick info list for my Summer 2019 Photo Mini Sessions!
Saturday, June 8 SAVE YOUR SPOT HERE. Rain Day if needed will be June 9.
Naming our two girls took prayer & time. Itās a big deal to bestow a name on someone who will have it for their lifetime! Naming anything like a pet, business, a book, you name it (pun intended 😉 ) takes thought, prayer, time, & hopefully some soul searching of why the name works (or doesnāt).
Naming my business Nomi Photography when I launched the photography business in 2014 was a no brainer. My siblings when we were all young couldnāt say my name Naomi very clearly & instead āNomiā came out. Nomi stuck & through the years some of my dear friends as well as my siblings still call me that to this day! Even the little ones I nanny called me Nomi! (Iāve actually met a few other Naomiās in my life & have been told their loved ones called them Nomi too! How fun!)
A lot of things have changed in the past 5 years. Iāve got some gray hairs. Iāve become a mother of two girls. Learned that I canāt eat too much dairy in a day & that real plants arenāt my thing. Bought a house. Worked harder at actually finishing the books I buy 😉 Iām 33 & life looks a lot different for me now then it did 5 years ago. With photography, Iāve made some decisions on what I choose to shoot & what I donāt. Iām not a wedding photographer. Iām not a studio photographer. I am a birth & family photographer!
All of that took time & maturity. Later in the coming weeks I plan to share 5 specific things Iāve learned in 5 years of business. But the bottom line from what Iāve found, with owning a business is if you want to take care of your clients & treat them like your own family (which is what I strive for) you have to change. You have to prune & grow. And mature.
Changing from Nomi Photography to Naomi Elizabeth Photography is an outward sign of the inward pruning, growth & maturity Iāve had in the past 5 years of business. Iāve learned soooooo many things & have changed for the better as a photographer & business owner & I want to make an outward reflection of that.
It is always my prayer to keep getting better in how I service my clients & the quality of photos I give. That is not going to change. My word for Naomi Elizabeth Photography for 2019 is āconnectionā. I want to connect with my clients in a deeper & more helpful way. Thus the recent Facebook Lives, the announcement of Birth Photography. Some of my policy changes for this year. The name change.
What can you expect with this change? Iāve got a new beautiful logo, a new website address: www.naomielizabethphotography.com. Youāll all need to start getting used to seeing Naomi Elizabeth Photography instead Nomi Photography! I will have a new email address & will be sharing that soon. I am working to get my facebook page name changed as well. Hopefully that goes well because Iāve heard it can take quite a bit of time!
But Iām excited & SO ready for this! Nomi Photography has matured for the better & Naomi Elizabeth Photography is the perfect way to reflect & share that change!
Friends, thank you for being here. For taking the time to read this. For supporting me & my family. Naomi Elizabeth Photography wouldnāt be what is now without you 😊 May is a big month & I plan to celebrate 5 years in several different ways! Stay tuned!
PS If youāre wondering, yes! Naomi Elizabeth is my first & middle name! And we did name our eldest Elizabeth so we could share names! 😉

Josh is on staff with Teen Challenge in Peoria & needed some updated head shots around the time I did the photos for the staff of First Assembly of God in Normal. It worked out well to do his at the same time! Very thankful for what Teen Challenge does!
