Eliott Turns One!

Baby Girl Eliott, where has the time gone? It was just yesterday that we took your Newborn Pictures & then it was just a few days after that I feel that we did your 6 Month pictures & took some pictures with your mommy & daddy & big sister. Now you’re turning one next weekend & I feel like I just blinked & you grew up.

At your newborn session, I had horrible morning sickness (no one knew we were pregnant with Elizabeth yet!) & just today I was holding our Elizabeth Leah & you were being all sweet & gentle & playing nicely with her. I pray you Eliott & my Elizabeth are friends in the making. The Wilcox Family loves you sweet girl. I love your smile, your BIG beautiful eyes & your sweetness.

The location we went to for Eliott’s One Year Session is a new favorite of mine. I totally did not plan that there would be so many beautiful purple spring trees & that Eliott would be wearing a purple dress! I love how the purple flowers through her session just made her little outfits pop! The flowers make special appearances in so many of her photo’s!

Here’s the details!

Saturday, June 11
If for some reason there is bad weather, we will have your session you signed up for on Sunday, June 12 at the same time you signed up for on June 11.
Families with up to 6 members ($10.00 per additional family member after 6 members) is $100.00
Siblings with up to 4 members are $75.00 ($10.00 per additional sibling after 4 siblings)
Location is Fairview Park in Normal
Family sessions will receive a total of 15-20 images. Sibling sessions will receive 10-15.
All images will be delivered within 3 weeks of the session via a link to an online gallery where they can be downloaded & printed wherever you choose.
Print Release is included.
This session does not allow for outfit changes.

To end my 2015 photography season with SUCH a special family & at a fun, incredible location was just perfect! I’ve always wanted to have a session at Ewing Manor, it’s been on my photographer dream list & I was SUPER excited when Nikki suggested having their family session there. Favorite!

Hadley & Eliott are precious little ladies to us. I can’t believe Hadley is halfway to 3 years old & Eliott is on her way to 7 months! Each girl has such a fun personality & I’ve loved being able to watch each develop. And I LOVED their pretty dresses Nikki had them wear! The colors were just perfect!

It was my pleasure to spend time with you four, Barker Family 🙂 It was fun seeing what we’ve talked about for awhile now all come to life. But my most favorite part of the session was seeing the love you all share. Hadley & Eliott are blessed girls. They have parents that love the Lord & each other.

These images make me SO ready for Christmas & I had this song going through my head while putting together this post. It’s one of my favorite Christmas songs & I think it’s a perfect ending:

Waverly | Senior Session

Really? I mean, really Waverly? Do you not know how BEAUTIFUL you are? Seriously friends. I know I shared with my first preview of this young lady that this lady shines not only from the outside but the inside as well & it’s SO true.

I feel like it was not long ago that Waverly was just coming into Junior High & I was a youth leader at youth group at our church. I watched her & loved her spunk, smile & how she would also get quiet & observe things. Now as a senior, Waverly is a busy girl! She plans on going into nursing & is already pursuing that by being at the hospital several days a week. She has a part time job, is involved in many activities including volunteering at church in nursery & basically whatever else we can get her to say yet too 😉 Because she’s just that AH-MAZING. She serves with her whole heart. And I LOVE talking to her! When you talk to her, she listens with her whole self. You feel special when you’re around Waverly Adams.

Waverly loves sunflowers. She brought a long a bouquet to her session & look what happened!

A butterfly was flying around us & we got it to go on the sunflowers!!!!!!!!! So YES this butterfly IS real & not a prop & YES that excited face of Waverly’s is completely genuine 😉

Waverly, I just had too much fun with you. I wish we could do senior pictures together every weekend 😉

And of course, we had to snap a few photo’s of her & her mom 🙂

Waverly, I’m so proud of you. Seriously. I love how you have grown & matured & the cool thing is, this is just the beginning. You are entering a new season & I for one will be watching & cheering you on. Keep shining for the Lord. He will make your paths straight. I’m a fan of you beautiful girl!!!!!

Fall Family Mini’s!

I’m EXCITED about my LAST mini sessions of the year!!! Fall Family Mini’s will be October 9 & 10!

Now before I go any further- please note these sessions go FAST. Like crazy fast. If you want one, please email me asap. I will be scheduling them on a first come, first serve basis. So whoever emails me first gets the first slot!

If you noticed, I AM having my Fall Mini’s spread out into two different days, Friday afternoon & early evening & then on Saturday as well. I will be even farther into my pregnancy then & I need to space myself a little 😉 But I also want to allow for as many of my clients as possible to take advantage of these, thus the two day window 🙂

Here’s the details!

Family’s with up to 6 members ($10.00 per additional family member after 6 members) is $75.00
***NEW for 2015*** For EVERY family you refer to me (so someone I have not worked with before), & they book a Fall Family Mini, you will receive $5.00 off your session. I will honor that up to 5 families- so you could save $25.00 of your session!!! When scheduling their session they need to mention that you referred them to me 🙂 *Their session cannot be canceled & must happen for you to receive the credit 😉
Location is Ewing Park III (where I had them last year & also known as Jersey Hill). I’ve reserved 20 minutes per family/session to have a fun interactive short session. I will be scheduling sessions back to back with short breaks in between.
You will receive a total of 15-20 images.
All images will be delivered within 3 weeks of the session (plenty of time to order Christmas Cards!) via a link to an online gallery where they can be downloaded & printed where you choose.

What to Expect Now that I’m Expecting!

If you haven’t heard, Eric & I our expecting our Little Wilcox around December 31! (You can read our announcement HERE.)

I’ve had many of you ask me different questions about the plans of Nomi Photography with a little one coming & if I plan to have a maternity leave. So here’s the answer to those questions & a few more!

When we started Nomi Photography in 2014, even then, Eric & I had our future family in mind. For us, it is important for me to stay home & being a photographer that works during evenings & weekends allows for that to happen. I am able to help our family out a little financially & am able to have a creative outlet that makes a difference. I LOVE meeting people & working with reoccurring clients & being able to share seasons of their lives with them. I’m excited for a new phase of life as a photographer AND a mommy 🙂

This Fall:

SENIOR SESSIONS – Class of 2016, if you’re wanting to book a senior session with me, we’ll need to get that on the books! I’ll only be accepting senior sessions for this fall. (You can wait to have your senior session in April when I’m back from maternity leave but I don’t recommend that 😉 )
FALL FAMILY MINI’S – I want to accommodate as many of my clients as possible for Fall Family Mini’s & I also don’t want to wear myself out 😉 This year, Fall Family Mini’s will be spread across two days: a Friday (afternoon/evening) & Saturday. Details on those coming Wednesday, September 2. (Those who are on my e-newsletter list find out first & have the opportunity to signup before others! See the right side of this page to signup if you’re not on my list already!)

My Maternity Leave:

NOVEMBER – Saturday, November 28 will be the last possible day to schedule a session with me in 2015. I will probably be still editing sessions from that month, but since I will be around 35 weeks pregnant, I will not be scheduling any actual sessions for after that day in 2015. My maternity leave will officially begin when the last session has been delivered 🙂
NEWBORN SESSIONS – If you are having a baby in February or March of 2016 & want me to do your newborn session, please contact me. We’ll see if we can make that happen 🙂 I’d advise contacting me sooner rather then later since I will not be checking my email that much 😉
APRIL – I plan to officially be back & scheduling sessions in April 2016. I may even take some sessions in March depending on what I feel I can handle at that point with a newborn & possibly returning to my part-time nanny position.
MOM & ME MINI’S – No matter when I’m back in full photographer mode, my Mom & Me Mini’s in 2016 will for sure be happening!!! I will be getting info & details on those out in plenty of time for reservations. (I may possibly have my Sibling Mini Sessions in the spring of 2016. I’ll probably put out info & see what the response is.)
DELIVERY OF MINI SESSION IMAGES – I’ve already begun this transition, but my mini sessions will now be delivered by a online gallery where images can be downloaded to your own personal computer instead of a CD of USB Drive. This will make my life as a new mom easier 😉

I’ve already seen how becoming a mother has changed what I feel is important in photography & capturing those special moments. Not going to lie, I’ve teared up & all out cried at a few recent sessions since becoming pregnant 😉 And I’ve found myself wanting to hold & snuggle the babies I’ve had sessions with 😉 Being a mom is going to make me an even better photographer! I’m so thankful for the Lord’s blessing in Eric & I’s lives & can’t wait to be a mom-tog (mommy photographer) 😉

Back-to-School 2015 Mini Session Recap!

I love families that homeschool. Seriously. I haven’t photographed one family that I didn’t want to just go hangout with after their session happened.

And maybe it’s because when I meet them, we already know we have something in common- homeschooling. I was homeschooled, my husband was & we plan to with our family in the future. Homeschooling isn’t for everyone. But these families make it look good!

I’m sharing just a few images from my Back-to-School Mini’s I had this past July for homeschooling families in the area. One family drove over an hour to meet up! Totally blew me away! And I’m sharing just a few favorites since I know some of these families are saving theirs for Christmas Cards 😉

Favorite Images from 2014 | Part I

First of all choosing my personal favorite images from each session I had in 2014 (all 42 of them!) was WAY more difficult then I imagined it to be. Several of these families are very close friends & others became close friends! I didn’t realize how much of my heart was connected to each session. But as “hard” as it was for me, it was also a wonderful experience- to look back & remember all of these special moments that I got to be a part of with so many incredible people. I’m not just saying that to make you all feel good 😉 I am truly thankful & blessed to have worked with each person/family/couple I met in 2014. And let me just say, looking back has made me VERY EXCITED for 2015. EXTREMELY excited 🙂

So just a reminder, this blog is a mini series, which basically means I will be posting several blogs posts to hold ALL of the images. I can’t put all of them in one! I’m spreading them out into about 3 posts (so there’s about 2 more coming!). I’m also adding the photo’s in complete random order. So if you don’t see my personal favorite image from your session, don’t freak out! 🙂 It’s coming! Hopefully the suspense won’t kill you 😉

You may be wondering how I chose my personal favorites, but before I answer that question, remember it was EXTREMELY hard to me to pick my favorites!!! Basically all the sessions I had about 2-3 fav images per session. It was very hard to narrow them down. But the ones I chose, are those that have personally stayed in my mind, touched my heart & made me fall even more in love with photography & capturing the smiles of so many people. If you look at each picture, you’ll notice I didn’t always choose the “perfect picture that had the perfect lighting & perfectly centered pose”. I usually chose ones where there’s a true genuine smile on their face or a belly laugh about to happen, the mom glowing while looking at her husband, a daddy holding his daughter close or you can totally see true love & tenderness in the eyes of those in the picture….AHHH!!!!! Who’s ready to see some pictures??? 🙂
